📜 History and Cultural Significance
The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan envisioned a mosque reflecting Islamic tolerance, peace, and diversity. His dream was to create a space where modern Islamic architecture meets cultural and religious values, promoting cross-cultural communication.
Construction began on November 5, 1996 and took 11 years, with artisans from around the world collaborating with 3,000 workers. It opened for worshippers on Eid Al Adha, 2007.
